Requirements

  • This free translation service is geared towards the web sites of NGOs, associations, foundations or any other type of non-profit organisation.
  • As a rule, we must share the ethos of these organisations in order to work with them. We will not offer our services to any kind of organisation that promotes extremism, radicalism or violence.
  • The organisations with which we would like to work are those who deal with themes such as awareness campaigns and environmental protection, open source projects and helping those who most need it, as well as education, information and campaigning against injustice.
  • The length of free translations is restricted to 8,000 words (approx. 20 pages). If the web page you wish to translate has a higher word count, you can either choose to summarise part of it or to pay a reduced tariff for the remaining words. The tariff is typically 0.05€ per word in commonly-used languages.
  • The web page, or at least its texts, should already exist when you place your request. The project must be feasible, generally understandable and be connected with a real organisation.
  • The names of the translator and the team working on the web page localisation will be added to the page and may contain external links.
  • Our agency and our volunteers do not have access to unlimited resources. As such, the translation itself and the time taken to do it will depend on the availability of those on whom we rely.
  • The organisation must need the translation to be done, both from an economic and a practical point of view. In other words there must be a reason for the translation.
  • At the moment, the free translation only applies to web sites.
  • The web site and its information must be legal and free to access. Upon its ceasing to be legal or free to access, the organisation must immediately take down the translations.
